Thoughts on future of mobile os and handset design

Slowly but surely, by adapting most features present in Android, iPhone is turning into a polished version of Android that probably Google planned but never implemented.

In few iterations of releases, there will be a point when both os will become increasingly similar wrt appearance, apps, Ecosystem etc. The market will saturate and consumers overwhelmed by the experience will once again switch to a simple phone that does what it is supposed to do – make and receive phone calls. In coming 5 years, the market for no nonsense feature phones will rise again. #prediction

Either make a dedicated camera, or laptop running IOS, Android, leave humble phone alone…personally i would prefer a flip phone or qwerty keyboard handset.

    My encounters with ingress

    image

As part of resistance, I played ingress, an augmented reality game created by niantic labs, part of Google.

This game is quite interesting and it has added an alien storyline with xm, portals, resonators etc  to keep players glued on.

This is the future of RPG. The environment will be your own locality, your opposition will be real people..

Actually, this game is part of Googles ambitious data capturing and mining project that will help it to gain location information about businesses , points of interests that is otherwise hard to find using satellites.

    Happy Birthday Google..

    Google's 10th Birthday

    Google completes its 10 years, 28 September 1998 – 28 September 2008..

Starting from what was called  as ‘Dont be Evil’, Google today is the world’s largest database holding tonnes of secrets about people, their habbits, their thinking, their culture et al..

In the first 10 years, Google has introduced several user oriented web softwares that helped them remorph the IT industry..Initially, Google began its life as a simple web search engine no one could had imagined to be what is perheps an integral part of their computing experience. There are other players in this market, like MSN, Ask, the recent Cuil, but Google has outcasted them and I dont think there would be anything much left for anyone to try as far as Web search is concerned.

Long live Google, and dont forget, the privacy bomb’s ticking.. 😉
