    Yamaha Gladiator 165cc

    Yamaha Gladiator 165cc

Hmm…heres the picture of the new Yamaha Gladiator 165cc. Its Yamaha Indias answer to Bajaj Pulsar DTSi, TVS Apache and Hero Honda CBZ and Karizma. The Bajaj-Yamaha alliance was just a speculation I never wished to be true.

This bike will be available in mid 2007, but unfortunately, I cannot have this mean machine, as my current Yamaha is quite new..

Yeah, the bike is surely the way to go for Yamaha. Hope this one gets the company out of hibernation and back on the leaderboard.

Although 165 cc doesn’t sound massive, hope it starts a chain reaction in company to bring bigger machines of Yamaha on indian roads.

We all know the reliability and superior chassis designs of Yamahas, & I’m sure this one will be no different. It looks great, with sensible fairing and color job (Yamaha always does the best paint job), check the reverse front forks, thats a first one for us, &check the clip on handlebar too. Still I felt they should have gone for better rear suspension, but hey! no complaints from me.

Its time we get some big guns from the Yamaha salon.

Hope we get to see it for real soon….

We all are Yamahas fans in a way or other, and let me tell you – I am as eager as you are, and I am seriously waiting for this bike to launch. The time duration is mid july 07. Actually the current Yamaha Gladiator 125 cc is a very nice bikes in terms of pick up, speed, looks, reliability and style, the only problem is that Yamaha India dosent believe in promoting its bikes too much. Imagine, they have got John Abraham, ‘Docter’ Valentino Rossi in MotoGP – so much they can market their bikes, but alas, they are still lagging and other players like Bajaj are capturing the ‘young’ market with Pulsar 150 cc and above, whereas Hero Honda and TVS are making 100cc bikes(the largest selling segment in Indian bike market). Yamaha India is confused whether as to concentrate on 100cc market or capture the hi-end 200cc+ market.

However, lets wait and hope for the best.

      Cheers 😀

      hi ,
I dont believe Yamaha, especially when it parted away from Escorts, I think Escorts yamaha were doing better job than the current bunch of jokers in Yamaha India, Atleast Escorts-Yamaha gave us RX100,RD350,RX135,RXZ135 14 bhp bike…just compare it to what Yamaha India offered us
      1. YBX125.(Bit spectical it was under yamaha india or escort yamaha)
      2. Crux
      3. Crux R
      4. Libero
      5. Libero G5
      6. Fazer(With that allien head lamp)
      7. Fazer(Without that allien head lamp)
      8. Gladiator (With spokes)
      9. Gladitator (JA)

I think they better with escort rather than japanese RD engineers and market study analyst

Rossi can even win on a kawasaki

It’s me again. Well I can’t buy Gladiator even if it comes out because I don’t live in India anymore. Although the memoirs of RX100 has made me a life-time devotee of Yamaha, but their current state of stupidity is beyond contemplation. So much so that some websites are predicting that they may shut down within this year. Which makes me more certain about “NO” 165cc Gladiator; however, if it really happens maybe the current YMIL’s MD could explain his stupidity before he catches his flight back home and says “Sayonara.”

      Hi guys!

Dont wait for yamaha gladiator 165 becoz so far yamaha has only disappointed the indian customer with its previous models. Pulsars are far too common and not very reliable too. Go for TVS Apache RTR 160, which will soon hit the road. From what i have read, it is definitely going to beat all the other 150s and could take on the pulsar 180 too. Besides, TVS have made the Apache TRT 160 a little more lengthier, so it looks as big as the pulsars. It also has LCD speedo. Go for TVS Apache RTR 160

Guys – its too little, too late. If Yamaha wants to win in India, they have to live up to their image – their image is Performance and quality. It makes no sense for them to fool around in the 100 – 165 cc range only. These guys should have the guts and gumption to launch a true blood 250 cc 400 cc at very competitive prices – I mean they are loosing money anyway, why not loose by subsidizing the price of these performance bikes – they will build IMAGE so strongly their brand value will soar. Instead of spending crores on dumb ads like the one for the Alba with one looser girl getting a tatoo of a 125 cc bike on her back and acting like its the biggest thing in life …..or the one where they show awesome performance bikes zooming around the place, yet the sell the equivalent of mopeds in their stable in India. What a convoluted, pansy approach to our market. No respect for the Indian consumer means no success – when will these guys take the lessons Mercedes has obviously learned …
Indians love a good deal – so if the Yamaha management take a good look at history, they need to give us something that gets out blood rushing – like they did with the RD 350 – and the RX 100 . THAT is Yamaha. Bring it on Ishikawa and you will see – a good 250 cc about a Lakh and a good 400 about 1.75 – 1.18 lakh (loose a little if you have to on these) will take your image and resultant sales of little peashooter bikes that you make in vast quantities through the proverbial roof. YAMAHA needs to be YAMAHA and not some sad-ars*d version of Munjals and their little commuters from Hero Honda.

Me too, homies. Ive been waiting for this one since 2005. Now i live in pune, and what the guys in the showroom here are saying, is that the bike wil MOST probably roll out this Diwali. Yam is planning to bring out the Gladiator 175. Or the Fazer. Now hold your breath, exact specs of the bike are NOT available, and i wouldn’t speculate either. But let me tell you that this is as much as I’ve heard, and I’m eagerly waiting for the bike in the Flesh. Currently ripping on a blue RX-Z, 2001 model. Cheers.

This bike cant be compared to Pulsar as Yamaha is no.1 company in whole world. But it must be lauch with highly modified mono-suspension at rear instead of traditional double suspension. And then surely no comparison for this bike with any other Indian bikes.

Presently I have been driving Yamaha Libero for 4-1/2 Years and it is giving very good performance as well as comfort and its directional stability which, I did not find in any other Bike of this series.

I am awaiting for the next higher model of Yamaha, preferably 150 CC onward, to be purchased for my Son and my nephews.

Pl. let me know when it is going to be launched in India and what will be its tentative Price?

I have a suggestion for Yamaha: Please incorporate “Mono Suspension” in all your Models, you will find that the sale of YAMAHA Bikes will increase to a great extent and it will become the Highest Saling Bike in India. Silver White Colour with Red combination, as in 165 CC bike, is most appealing one.

      Dear Sirs,

In India so many bikes are coming, but no one introduced with a speciality level as per the publics expectation. All are releasing only model based not life long durability.

      My Suggions are :

In city generaly in the Traffic level all will ride the bike in 1st & 2nd gear mostly. In this stage we loose petrol ( Here if you can made as given below if possible then all will get excess milage and reduction of tention ride and accident risk safe and mide relaxation and easy to ride the vehicle single or family ride both will get benefit ) Here if possible to manufacture like 1st & 2nd gear on Automation Engine Accileration ( like Activa Honda / TVS Pep + / TVS – XL Super / Kinetic Honda or Specialy like Hero Honda Street Deluxe – without clutch ) model that is without gear system. This stage will be applicable with out Nutral and in the front loading gear leaver down pressing system for Indian city heavy traffic place and slow ride operation methodology.

After this Auto Gear finished in 2 gear speed level operation only, we will move in to speed increase system by operating Clutch with gear change level ( this gear increases will be applicable as per the road conditon and traffic level and need level of speed transmission upto 3rd gear to 5 or 6th gear by operating front load single lever by Top Lifting with leg front toe not operating by back leg lever. This front & back operation will give non rest and hard level of operation in the traffic.

After the Top gear if we need to reduce or come down to Auto gear place ( Low Speed operation ) we have to press one Auto operation leg lever in one press ( Like Bullet Nutral Leg Lever ) will come to Auto gear engine operation.

In 1975 Escorts introduced Rajdoot – GTX – 175 CC model bike with lower Height and short length. Now, a days lots of traffic problem and road capacity ( width ) stage why our Indian Bike Mfg. co., may develop to introduce Scooter Wheel with Kinetic Blaze level width wheel with split ( divide type ) wheel easy to operate for puncture ( to avoide / will not get damage tyre beading and rim edge damages ), Centre Engine as per my above suggestions / Chain Drive not belt drive / with chain guard / very important is all out side mechanics can easy to work with the excellent work space ( i.e. the work should not give troble to attend one simple job and not to open all 3 – 4,5 linked bolt & nut removel system . Ex. to attend one head or bore work , we should not open the shock absorber, air filter etc.. ) if we work on one part there only we have to concentrate. otherwise unnessary time delay / iritation / hand get injurty while opening nut & bolt because of no space to work operation. Those problems may give a caution for your bikes failure in the market. Your mfg. bike as per my above design lookes like scooter and covered inner bike system, safe coverage with metalic body ( No fibre coverage — if damages made public can’t by with higher cost ) rear 2 shock absorber / Petrol Tank capacity Max. 8 – 10 Ltrs. with reserve 1.5 – 2 ltrs. capacity/ Battery 12V 9 Amps. / All the above will come below the seat. Like a scooter mfg. model public can use the front place for luggage / children seating hold and back seat for family. This should not be like a sports type seat . Because ladies will not like to sit on upper level seat system and this is not safe also. If even seat or like Avenger model seat aged ladies can also sit without risk. Pinion holder like Bajaj Avenger. Centre Stand like Bullet only and side stand also to be provided. Crash Bar Not necessary for this type bike. In this scooter cum bike model side body should be like Laby / Vijay Supder model because in that rider and Pinion rider can rest their foot in the long extended foot rest place without nee trouble and leg pain and the side body also like that because of centre engine model should be same like a bike engine not like a rear wheel linked body engine. The side sheeld can easy to open with 2 – 3 only hand open screws with one key system on both left and right side.

In the scooter & bike model out of regular body left and right side one foot rest sheeld bar to be fixed like Yamaha Enticer for gear and Rear Break operations. This side place for Rider convenient centre place for luggage and front sitting persons ( Small Boys / Girls ) foot rest place.

Handle Bar sytems like Bike model above the Scooter model front sheeld with tool box like bajaj scooters not like k honda and Act. honda fiber box. Below the handle bar Rain water should not enter in to the sheeld gap. In the in side of the Sheeld Gap we have to fix horn, indicator signal horn and one Metal bend tube to be welded for Carburator cable insertion for necessary changes required and clutch cable insertions. This pipe system will not give trouble to the mechanic while change the cable and easy to operation otherwise we have to open all the sheeld and others to change one or two cable.

Front break two models ( Disc break and lineing break ), like Kinetic blaze with wide range wheel fixing rear and front both places if the out siders alterations also to be possibles should be in that engine front spraket and rear spraket extend as per width wheel fixation as per public wish also you have to satisfy for eary alterations ).

Front fork telescopic model with heavy shock holding capacity. Speedo meter to be fixed seperate peace like Enfield Bullet. other wise for one speedo system we have to change the Hub. Mostly we have to give safety and cost of spending spares ( long life to be required like Escorts Rajdoot and TVS Etc… ). Ohters also good but the public willingness is long life only.

Head light model should be exactly Enfield Bullet model without link with front fork top Pipe Holder Bolt fixing. Handle bar like fury or pulsar, Disc break right side handle bar fixing oil cup to be serperated and don’t merge with accelerator yoke. In the rear side totaly extra spaces to be kept on all the way because public may go for some alteration changes. Generaly we have to go our product as per public general mentality and wish and success capacity thought by mechanic. Then only your product will move in the market on higher sale basis.

The above are my suggestions, If any body interested me to work on your organisation well and good to me to introduce new things in the needed world with my small capacity brain work.

If anything I said wrongly, pl. forgive me and If you give any opinion on the above kindly mail me in rbaalu1976@gmail.com / balur@vetaglobal.com

As you must have already read tht yamaha has launched it premium sports bike and cruiser R1 and MT01 in india this week.

all the gladi lovers can wait for the bike.

Its sure tht yamaha is going to launch 150cc to 250cc segment bikes once it is displayed in auto-expo 08. i m waiting for this bike since last feb.

and it is almost sure tht it will be launched by nxt mnth.

Even honda is comming out with new bike in tht same segment..
so if u guys are planning to buy the bike in this mnth, i would suggest tht u should wait till jan. even suzuki is launching some good bike at the same time.

all the compnies mantioned in this post are all international compnies which always produces quality.

so i suggest dont go for Hero honda or bajaj as they are local indian compnies..

      Keep in mind on statment….

Hope for the best and F–k the rest….

I like YAMAHA as i own an RX more than a decade and 88 Rx well i could say that the company was good in the past when it was the world of two strokes, but it is very sad to say that the company cannot make or is not upto the indian peoples needs, they are still in the past in the time of 100cc and 125cc and that to they have all fuck all models like crux, libero, gladiator,it was easy for them just change the graphics a bit looks and all cosmetics done to the same YBX engine.
Guys you all made a good name in your past models but i guess its more than a decade the company name has vanished, with all those nonsence bikes you are making, just take a look at that Bajaj, what was bajaj before just in scooters man now he the king in bikes just giving bikes to the people in variations, what do u have Yamaha.
Frankly speaking you guys are just making fake talks, media calls, and fooling people with your upcomming models.Recently i saw R1 and Mt01 but guys can i ask u something which class of people are you targetting in India.First you give bikes like 150cc,200cc,250cc make your image in that class then u give the market R1 and other Bikes. You are too late in doing and implementing your bikes your aims in the market,if u you ask any one they wont recomend a bike from Yamaha, because people only know Yamaha by the RD and Rx and no other bike from Yamaha besides that.
If you have something good in your R&D launch it man before someone launches their bike and captures your share.Do not misunderstand with this small msg i have written i am a well wisher of Yamaha cant see the co giong downnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn
All the best to your future plans YAMAHA

The secret behind Bob Woolmers untimely death

On 18 March 2007 (the day after Pakistan’s unexpected defeat to Ireland) Bob Woolmer was found unconscious in his hotel room in Kingston, Jamaica. He was taken to the nearby University Hospital but it was later confirmed that he had died.

It was a bizzaire news for the most, but there are some very secret motives hidden deep into the dark side of the moon. There are several speculations that point towards the match fixing bookies, but a very interesting theory has come to light.

Could the US secret agencies like FBI or CIA behind this? Or is it the job of Pakistani Secret Service, the ISI done for giving Mussharaf a cue – Your time is up..?Or is it the job of international mafia bookies whose match fixing tricks are destroying the spirit of cricket?

One thing is sure – The US now has realized that Mussharaf is unable to control the fanatic terrorist groups within his state. This is particularly dangerous for US troops lying stagnant in neighbouring Afghanistan, where the Taliban and Al Kaida are preparing to make a comeback, not fully though. Dubya Bush cannot afford to suffer loss due to troubled situations in Iraq and Afghanistan. On top of it, there is a deep discontent among top Pakistani military administration and the common public, esp the world saw the raging civilians marching against the recent removal of Supreme Court Judge.

Whatever it may be..things are getting murkier as the time progresses..Indian needs to keep a watchful eye on these developments that take place. Another fanatic leader taking over Pakistan is gonna create trouble for India.

An update March 24 12:29 IST

Its now confirmed by the Jamaica Police that Bob Woolmer was murdered “due to asphyxia as a result of manual strangulation.

The Jamaica Police has conducted a DNA test on Pakistani team and there is a strong chance of someone wrongdoing the South African for fear of getting exposed in match fixing scandal.
Meanwhile, in India, Bob Woolmer is getting the media attention much more then what he used to get when he was alive..Watching the news channels for the day, I believe that conspiracy surround Woolmers muder is more important then any national issue. Now for rest of week, the news sleuths will be behind every detail occuring in Jamaica, and the media hype will be at its peak and we will get atmost bizzaire theories from the immature Indian TV channels. Pathetic dogs..

According to some newsmakers example IBN-7, Inzamam is the prime culprit, while some(TIMES NOW, NDTV) are suspecting Danish Kaneria(the sole hindu player in pakistani team) for his passiveness in this case. Its funky to watch the half baked speculations that media makes..Whatever that might take… Match fixing cartels and mafias now rule the game along with the new underground bosses – the sponsers, who are sure to suffer huge revenues if India gets out of the competition cheaply..Afterall, not everyday one can invest million dollors and get nothing in return..

Meanwhile, in other developments, the Indian team is yet again on slump of getting outbursted..with scores reading something as 43-2. I am not gonna stay awake for idiots like them. If they win, its good, if they dont, I will be happy..

Can Yamaha and Bajaj come togather in India?

After Kawasaki, could a Yamaha-Bajaj alliance be in the offering? While loss-ridden Yamaha doesn’t deny the possibility, it is giving the Indian market a last shot.Yamaha plans to put in another Rs 800 crore and may churn out a 250 cc bike at the next Auto Expo.In the pipeline, is to create a niche market in the 200 to 250 cc category. Yamaha is also exploring the possibility of hitting the market with high-end performance bikes.

Inpsite of six tough, loss-ridden years, Japan’s Yamaha refuses to exit India. Denying the reports, Yamaha’s new Managing Director, T Ishikawa, better known as the man who turned around Yamaha’s Thai operations says the company is in the process of realigning its India strategy.  He was quoted as  “When I joined in Thailand, things were just like what they are in India. Cost and features is what they looked at then i introduced unique models , created niche market. All we did was tried to sell lifestyle not just product.”

So, its official now, Yamaha is not exiting the Indian market. In fact, they have adopted a new startegy for Indian market – they are pumping in Rs 800 crore over the next four years and will ramp up the capacity from the existing 3 lakh units to 10 lakh units by 2010.

While Yamaha is giving India another shot, the market is abuzz with rumours of a possibility of a Bajaj – Yamaha alliance. While the company has not denied a possible tie-up, the timing may be bit premature.

The other company producing hi-end bikes in India is Hero Honda with its Karizma.

Yamaha – Bajaj alliance is interesting…
I always thought Yamahas and Hondas should bring their 200CC+ bikes instead of competing with TVSs and Bajajs in 125cc and 150cc categories…

    • Harshad Joshi 6:34 am on March 14, 2007 Permalink | Reply

Actually, the strategy of introducing 100-125 cc bikes is to consolidate the position among the common masses, which has got a majority of market share;almost 88%. Its clear that common consumers do not want a fuel hungry-yet-sporty attractive bike, because petrol costs are higher in India and the price keeps on fluctuating. Besides, the Indian roads are a challenge for any tyre company. We dont want to see accidents due to tyres. The Indian traffic is one more biiig challenge. It would be an utter waste if you have a 400 cc bike, but you cannot ride it to the fullest, simply because, we do not have appropriate roads for it..

So even if Yamaha has the capacity to bring out a 200 or even 400 cc bike, it dosent do so, fearing the loss of market to other players. Note -Yamaha is numero uno in MotoGP.

On the other hand, we see Bajaj business flourishing in 150-180 cc catagory, but Bajaj bikes have got poor pollution control. But because its the only player in that feild, we feel its #1.

It upsets me to see that the Government makes the import of 500 cc and above motorcycles, such an expensive proposition. One needs only to look at all the offerings in India to know that no Indian manufacturer is going to invest in a 300 cc and above bike anytime soon – they had not ventured out of the 100 cc – 150cc area for so many years until Bajaj brought out the Pulsar – then things changed for indian bikers.
But why not permit (at a low duty) the import of bikes above 500 cc ?!?! Lower down i can understand shielding Indian manufacturers from Chinese competition or Japanese technology – but with certain criterion in place (quality etc cause one does not want crappy Chinese motorcycles flooding our markets in ANY cc ) why not let 500 cc bikes and above from Harley, Ducatti . Triumph, Bmw, Japanese 3 and other quality performance machines come in at a regular consumer goods duty of 25 % . This would make most high powered bikes available between the capacity of 500 cc – 900cc available to us in the 1.5 – 5 lakh bracket and would spring out a whole new market and industry

Absolutely. If a small player like Kinetic could import Knocked down units of Aquila and Comet why not Yamaha. Its just a question of willingness. When there is a will there is a way. Yamaha is still riding on the glory of the RX100 least realising they are losing some good custmers by not getting the latest offerings from the mother Company. YAMAHA please remember there is nothing like a good customer to get you the best publicity!

Please get your act together and lets see some good bikes on the Indian roads. Hey, and don’t worry about the road conditions leave that to us.

    Dish TV

5 reasons for avoiding satellite TV services in India esp Dish TV

    1. Dish TV is a utter crap service handled by a couple of jerks. Their STB’s (set top boxes) are manufactured in China and are of very inferior quality. One of our boxes has gone on a ride

    2. Their service is very bad. I dont know any other company which dosent provide TV services even after paying the alloted rent.

    3. The dealer and the company have got different opinion about the schemes and number of channel subscription.

    4. The movies on demand are of utter crap quality. They are mostly unwatched B or C grade Hindi movies which were thrown out of theaters in the 1 week itself.

    5. The customer care is handled by half paid blokes. One of them asked me to do a MASTER RESET and discovered that there is a ‘problem’ in their STB. Whoa….Its like formatting the disk and trying to find the stored data in there…and then saying ‘Oh, there might be a lil’ bug’.

One positive thing about Dish TV is that free-to-air channels can be viewed on the STB, even if monthly rent isent paid on time(this can change soon). However, I dont need to clarify about the media quality of free-to-air channels. Its unspeakable.

I think the TRAI has lost a chance to earn more bribe by leaving out the TV section. Pathetic dogs.

      Dear Friend,
Just In reply of your view specially on Dish Tv. As i am using Dish TV for past 2 years and till there is no problem with services or with any instrument.
      1. As you said about STB i don’t think its of inferior quality else it will not work smoothly for last two years.

      2. About dealers and company everybody will have same information. As currentlythey have one great offer “FREE BHI ZYADA BHI” in this you will get 6 month free on 1st Connection and 12 Months on second.

      3. Movie on deman….they shown a lots of good movie as well like munna bhai, phir hera feri….and list goes on.

      4. About customer care till now i have faced any problem they resolved my queries very nicely.

Further list of goodies are very large as compared to other key players in the market.

    The Digital (Anti)Social Networks

    Digital (Anti) Social Networks

Tired of getting friend requests from MySpace, TagWorld, Friendster, TypePad, Skype, AIM, Yahoo!, Chia Friend, LinkedIn, MSN, TextAmerica, Upcoming, Digg, Google, 30 Boxes, Second Life, Plaxo, Zooomr, ICQ, Flickr, LiveJournal, Dogster, dodgeball, Backwash, BuddyBridge, FriendFan, Classmates, Buzznet, ReferNet… not to mention Friend Surfer, friendsand, Friends of Friends, friendsbay.de, Friends of Friends, Friends Reunited, Friendoo, Friendset, Friendsync, Friendity, Friendzy… and a million others… Tyrone J. Walrustitty put the following text on his Geocities homepage:

Dear “Friend,” I don’t want to join [insert Web site name here]. I hate social networks. Hate ‘em! I’m tired of you sending these damn invitations to me. If you do it again, I’m going to stop being your friend – because inviting me to yet another social network that doesn’t interest me simply isn’t a very friendly thing to do. If I’m already on the social networks that you’re already on, I have no problem in connecting with you there. As it stands, however, my tolerance for social networks is turning me anti-social. If I add one more social network to my social network network, I’m truly going to go social on yo’ ass.

Based on this simple idea, Tyrone launched Hermitster, raised $8.2 billion in funding, and sold the property to Rupert Murderock for well over a trillion dollars.

Umm…after observing the bad effects of tools like Orkut, Myspace, Ryze(Does it exist ?), I guess its time now to quit the ‘digital’ social networking tools…

If we observe the list, we will find a number of people well inside their thirties. Fast growing IT and service industry has no doubt increased the income of many, but at the same time, has caused the ‘evil’ elements of quick money to rise..The number of girls caught have raised various social issues that need to be addressed and resolved soon.

Actually, the disturbing fact found in this crackdown was the use of digital social networking tool – Orkut, which was used as a means of communication between peer groups. According to me, now its high time that Google bring an Indianized version of Orkut example – http://www.orkut.co.in which will function mostly for Indian users and will comply by Indian legal codes.

A brief Update March 7, 2007 – Majority of the convicts have been bailed out, while some have been booked under illegal drug trafficing and various other charges. It was not very good to see that arrogant parents and their equeally arrogant idiots were blaming the ‘media’ for the damage..Hmph…what a bunch of jerks…

The latest in this case on 7 April 07

The drug test gave positive results for 249 convicts out of the 288 arrested. Thats quite high percentage. Hmm..tough deal, lifes isent a joke. 😛

Yes, definitely this mass communication(orkut) was used wrongly. And definitely muddled our pune. But we can’t held any site responsible for this as every thing have two faces like coin. Its only upto people how they are going to make use of this? And then only the endresult can tell whether it proves a boon or a curse for the society.

Harshad, Rave Party is wrong english, theres no such thing as a Rave Party. It is a Rave and something like a party. Anyway its sad to know that you think the parents are a bunch of Jerks, because if you do some research on what the Media and Police found 1500 bottles of phenyl hydrocholride? do you know what that is….its no drug, check the contents of a bottle called ikul available at any medical shop, its no drug.

im refering to the article that can be found here fractalenlightenment.blogspot.com/2007/03/holi-festival-of-spring.html

Another thing, when the whole of India is drinking bhang, which is made out of ganja and is illegal, the government chooses to arrest 200 kids who are doing the same thing.

So next time Harshad, put in some research before you give us your opinion.

I guess that what you are trying to tell me can be quite inflammatory and I am not the right person to answer that in this forum..Its apparent that you might know who was responsible for that, it would be actually much better if you can approach them and enquire…Period

Maybe you need to exercise your grey cells a lil’ more and observe that the 250-9 convicts were real jerks..the ignorant jerks, who do not have a common sense and beleive that they are innocent..

They arent innocent..they are ignorant. Ignorance is a deadly crime. The ignorance of attending a party which wasent legal..ignorance of not knowing who the organizer was and what was his background..ignorance of the fact that the place where the party was supposed to be conducted is an agriculture land, where any other bussiness, other then farming is banned by law??

Ha..this is a best exmple I have ever seen having so many ignorant jerks around..Serves them good. 😀

Your statement in the previous comment – ‘Another thing, when the whole of India is drinking bhang, which is made out of ganja and is illegal, the government chooses to arrest 200 kids who are doing the same thing.’ is based upon completely primitive assumptions, which may not be true in all cases of special reason.

      For primates supporting rave party
I observed that there is a certain forum, full of unworthy apes, who have put on loud and time wasting arguments trying to explain me the stuff of rave party. Who cares to read all the crap??

However, its interesting to note and observe that there are so many people in this world still living in a stone age primitive mentality, seeking out solace in drugs and a crap termed as music to escape or get a break from the real world problems…Scared of reality and afraid to face work pressure Whatever… Mentally retarded jerks. 😛

      Now for the final thing
      1. Post up comment that shows your ignorance, idiotness and arrogance, it will get marked as spam the next moment.
      2. Send me foolish mails, I will definately mark it as spam.

Banning / Suppressing orkut is not a solution. Things don’t work that way. The right solution is to punish the drug consumers and peddlers themselves, heavily. The justification for that is simple. If orkut goes down, some other site will come up. What will you then? Ban it too? But if people know that there are serious consequences to drug consumption and peddling, they will keep away from it.

Also, I will agree with the bhang point – allowing its consumption its wrong. Just because lots of people consume bhang, doesn’t mean that it is correct.

Several examples where people think that when everyone does something, it must be right-
      a) Sati (sure, before it was banned by the Brits, many thought it was right – now we all understand why it was wrong)
      b) Sealing drive in Delhi (just because everyones building illegaly, doesn’t mean that its correct)

We must identify what the real problem is and not get carried away in hype and rhetoric. For example, the real problem aren’t the plastic bags littering our streets. The real problem is the correct disposal of these bags. Banning plastics was the quick (read stupid) solution.

Finally the right to express oneself is one of the rights we value the most.

I agree with Rohit Bhai…. one hundred percent!

In the similar lines, since evry body now thinks that drug consumers should be punished, it does not mean that IT IS RIGHT 🙂

the right to express oneself is one of the rights we value the most…EXACTLY.
“The right to do one’s chosen action, provided that its not going to affect anybody else’s lyf” is also one such rights. Wat say Harshad Bhai…?

How many are affected by this rave? How many have inconveniences becoz of this rave?

It’s a red herring on the cops part to raid the rave when there are several illegal activities to be addresses in mumbai-pune circle !!!

“The right to do one’s chosen action, provided that its not going to affect anybody else’s lyf”

In many cases that would be true. ‘Others’ would mind their own business. In this case, it does affect ‘other’ people’s lives. Drug addicts become slaves to their habit. When they need a dose, they need it bad. If the urge isn’t satisfied, they may go to any extent to fulfill it. Consumption of drugs can become the cause of violence, due to disinhibition. Hence, it is not as simple as minding one’s own business.

“How many are affected by this rave? How many have inconveniences becoz of this rave?”

Plenty. Just knowing that there are drug peddlers around would be enough to worry parents of teenagers. After all, which parent wants to see their child throw away his / her life for drugs? If India is shining, teenagers in India should take the opportunity and ride the wave.

“It’s a red herring on the cops part to raid the rave when there are several illegal activities to be addresses in mumbai-pune circle !!!”

      – Another case of “Its OK, others are doing it too.”. An illegal activity is illegal. Period. It needs to be checked and punished.

Tell me, at what point do we actually demand change?

I dont understand people always talk about banning the sites, internet and source of information. Why dont they understand, there are lots of good websites and communities available on the internet and orkut. Do they think, they are god?

Remember one thing, world changes always, there are bad things also and good things both. Bad things will go and good things will always remain.

That is the life. so be patients. Banning orkut is not solution.

The same thing with drugs. If you search, you will see almost every single things will have their drawbacks if you use it irresponsibliy. even the god.

In my opinion, We need to develop the culture to respect the people and communities.

i hear comparisons between bhang, as you put it, and a rave party and i am dismayed. firstly, bhang is not made from ganja as someone sems to think. it is ganja. or cannabisativa to be precise.
secondly, it is not a hallucinogen, it is not habit forming. it has a pharmocological efect that crosses the blood brain barrier intact, but causes no physiological dependence. something like lsd. therefore, it does not qualify as a drug. psychotropic substance, yes. drug? no.
and lastly, have any of you ever tried it?

secondly, it is not a hallucinogen, it is not habit forming. it causes metacognition. it has a pharmocological effect that crosses the blood brain barrier intact, but causes no physiological dependence. something like lsd. therefore, it does not qualify as a drug. psychotropic substance, yes. drug, no.
and lastly, have any of you ever tried it? please do. it’ll do you no harm.

you don’t wonder then where laws come from? they affect you, they affect us all, our entire lives. doesn’t it strike you as absurd that you could be jailed in excess of 5 years, without bail, for something that is no more harmful than the cigarrette its usually smoked in and technically isn’t even a drug.
as for rave parties, don’t know much about them, escept what i hear and read…never been to one. so no question of supporting them.

Good, its nice to know that you dont support rave parties.. 😛

    • yemeth 6:25 am on August 24, 2007 Permalink | Reply

don’t oppose them either. the way i figure it, if the kids wanna get high, let them. all this talk of upholding the glorious indian culture and law and order doesn’t sit well with me.
after all, cultures evolve and evolve all the time. and ours is just one of many thousands that have flourished and will die out, eventually. and the law, though a means of enforcing order is a tool of repression, after all.
so no, i’m not, so to speak, in your camp. i’m an opposer. a ditracter. a traitor, because i think that for the most part, india is a godawful country. just as awful as any other. i am, a hippie. a tree hugger. a gay-lover. a pacifict. a nihilist. a marijuana enthusiast. a cultist, if you will. and only a rave party non-supporter, cause i’ve never been to one. if i did, i’ll likely support it. and above all someone, who doesn’t recognise the authority of the laws of this country or any other to curtail my freedoms.
did i mention, i also enjoy making people mad?

Maybe you should try attending illegal rave parties, consume drugs, act against prescribed law, abuse the system, rant about laws, and get caught by police..I would like to know your thoughts after you finish your jail term..

Whats the point of flashing names of the guys those who are caught unless and until they are not convicted. Its just a way of seekin publicity like the DUDE who caught everyone in the party…thats cheap. The law is a big joke! wat abt zillions who abuse it everyday? just because u have media raised issue and names it doesnt mean u have to take advantage of it to get publicity.CHEAP!

    • vicky 11:07 am on August 12, 2008 Permalink | Reply

and forget the bad name these people got got just because they had something they dint have to…did they murder anyone?? wat abt their future. It has went for a toss! Just for the sake of publicity of few people. They should be ashamed to misuse the law.this all happenned at the expense of the future of 250 young people.there has been a lot of time passes after the issue but now the media doesnt think nythn constructive.it just wants a story.everybody wants to exploit somethin makin others suffer.isnt it appalling…who cares? its India.

Mr harshad,i accept the fact that drug abuse is a crime.but let me tell you that bhaang is not a drug and consumption of bhaang is socially accepted i india.and about the rave party, many innocent guys and girls were punished just due to mere physical presence.i dont think by punishing them is the solution 2 the problem.that was a publicity done by the police that they do their duty, but by raising the issue and flashing the names is a stupidity.what about those who din consume anything but still they are suffering?its not ignorance, let me tell u that.instead of discussing about something creative in life,we give value to such topics.and punishing them is not how they learn a lesson….coz each individual was gone there with different intentions.SO MR.JOSHI BETTER TRY DISCUSSING SOMETHING EFFECTIVE THAN SUCH CRAP…

First,I just said that u r tryin to act as a morale brigade.Dont pressume anything just to prove ur point.
“Thanks for calling me a person with good moral values..I like that.. ;)”..this was ur reply.Thats a quality of a moron..and I dont like that.
U consider urself havin morale values…just for an example consider the Taliban or SIMI or such anti social elements. They consider themselves as a moral brigade. That is because these group of religious fanatics and bigots consider themselves to be but they arent! U r just like them.Tryin to prove ur point through cheap activities. For example the long big crap u have posted up.
U also said that these people caught were not innocent but ignorant.Killing, raping, looting are crimes that are committed not because of mere ignorance but because of a mentality that is deep rooted in the criminal.Wat a young person has to suffer for being ignorant?? Names in the newspapers,on the internet, dont knw wat ndps laws on them, most of all their carrers.I can only ask u to be constructive on the issue.Thriving on a story like a maggot or a scavenger wont change anythin for good.U add no meaning to the word humanity.
And please Orkut is not antisocial site. The good has to be derived from it.Good shall always win!
Phew!..I hope i wil be able to make u understand nw…Mr thickheaded relentless fool.

Your IP address says that maybe three of you are related in some way..

Some countries manufacture drugs and distribute them to mafias who in turn sell them at exotic prices to others.

This way, the drug manufacturing countries and mafia run their economy, in a way threatening World peace, culture and society.

After reading all what I have read above – I am inspired that there is still some sanity left in people like you who still believe in a cause that is outside of them.

That the ‘pursuit of happiness’ is not the only end to one’s life and that people like you are willing to take on the ulterior forces in our present society is a heartening wake-up call to all those out there who think that admonishing you is a quick ticket to glory. I am truly inspired and empowered by your stand and more importantly, say in the matter.

I look forward to hear back from you.
