Hmm…heres the picture of the new Yamaha Gladiator 165cc. Its Yamaha Indias answer to Bajaj Pulsar DTSi, TVS Apache and Hero Honda CBZ and Karizma. The Bajaj-Yamaha alliance was just a speculation I never wished to be true.
This bike will be available in mid 2007, but unfortunately, I cannot have this mean machine, as my current Yamaha is quite new..

i m out of words i m very sad when i m having money to purchase bike yamaha far behind from market but i thought how it can be possible leader of speed not be defat by new comer biker manufacturer so thats the answer for all.

Hi
So far Yamaha have not capture the Road since after RX100. I think this Yamaha Gladiator 165cc. Rule the Road now….Plz tell us features more as soon as possible…I thought I’ll go for 200cc Pulsar but when i show this Yamaha 165 gladiator…I have not decide which one to go for it…..

Yeah, the bike is surely the way to go for Yamaha. Hope this one gets the company out of hibernation and back on the leaderboard.
Although 165 cc doesn’t sound massive, hope it starts a chain reaction in company to bring bigger machines of Yamaha on indian roads.
We all know the reliability and superior chassis designs of Yamahas, & I’m sure this one will be no different. It looks great, with sensible fairing and color job (Yamaha always does the best paint job), check the reverse front forks, thats a first one for us, &check the clip on handlebar too. Still I felt they should have gone for better rear suspension, but hey! no complaints from me.
Its time we get some big guns from the Yamaha salon.
Hope we get to see it for real soon….

I want to know that is the author’s source relaible?? i mean isn’t it a mere speculation that this bike will release in mid 2007?? Some websites claim that this is justa prototype and yamaha may not release it.

Are you sure this bike will be launched in India because Yamaha has already launched “Alba” another Libero variant? I am keeping my finger crossed, but Yamaha India has a reputation of being an utter disappointment.

We all are Yamahas fans in a way or other, and let me tell you – I am as eager as you are, and I am seriously waiting for this bike to launch. The time duration is mid july 07. Actually the current Yamaha Gladiator 125 cc is a very nice bikes in terms of pick up, speed, looks,reliability and style, the only problem is that Yamaha India dosent believe in promoting its bikes too much. Imagine, they have got John Abraham, ‘Docter’ Valentino Rossi in MotoGP – so much they can market their bikes, but alas, they are still lagging and other players like Bajaj are capturing the ‘young’ market with Pulsar 150 cc and above, whereas Hero Honda and TVS are making 100cc bikes(the largest selling segment in Indian bike market). Yamaha India is confused whether as to concentrate on 100cc market or capture the hi-end 200cc+ market.
However, lets wait and hope for the best.

I dont believe Yamaha, especially when it parted away from Escorts, I think Escorts yamaha were doing better job than the current bunch of jokers in Yamaha India, Atleast Escorts-Yamaha gave us RX100,RD350,RX135,RXZ135 14 bhp bike…just compare it to what Yamaha India offered us
1. YBX125.(Bit spectical it was under yamaha india or escort yamaha)

4. Libero
5. Libero G5
6. Fazer(With that allien head lamp)

Actually, this bike is probably a prototype of their 150 cc and above, just as the Fazar 125cc was the prototype for Gladiator 125cc.
Have patience..Yamaha will do something soon..now-a-days they have been showing Rossi ads all over.

Doing rossi ads all over is not enough, I have hearing it from last year, but got all the variants of fazer in different name, its better if they tie up with some indian partner, and bring back the DNA of legendry bikes like RD350 and RX100, no point is showing AD of Rossi and John Abraham,
Rossi can even win on a kawasaki

I had a RXG for 8 years it was the best… better than all avaliable in market today…. as there was no gear problem no cluth problem, sheer performance, waited for 4 years to get an another yamaha…. but yamaha offered cruxR, cruxy, cruxZ, and the libero…I cant wait anymore, hope yamaha is reading this and launches a bike before october….and that too 200cc bike no 165cc anymore, because bajaj had raised the bar higher, hope some sane mind agrees with me

Hi,
It’s me again. Well I can’t buy Gladiator even if it comes out because I don’t live in India anymore. Although the memoirs of RX100 has made me a life-time devotee of Yamaha, but their current state of stupidity is beyond contemplation. So much so that some websites are predicting that they may shut down within this year. Which makes me more certain about “NO” 165cc Gladiator; however, if it really happens maybe the current YMIL’s MD could explain his stupidity before he catches his flight back home and says “Sayonara.”

Hi all. Im a deadly fan of Yamaha. Frm the begining im riding Yamaha Bikes only. 1st from RX135, then RXZ, then Entizer, then CRUX, then CRUX R, then finally now flying on with my FAZER. In my town i hav took this FAZER first and for that i hav came in Newspaper too. Proud of it. Expecting to throw away this Fazer instead of 165 Gladiator flying machine. Launch at the earliest. This bike seems dynamic but again yamaha fails in making the shape of fuel tank attractive.As the shape of fuel tank in gladiator is not good so i have bought pulsar. But what i have seen u repeated the same tank. Althought the tank is not good i need more information and photographs from different angle to think upon it.

Hi, I have a Ymaha Enticer at the moment. It’s very comfortable. Also I had a great experiance of Fazer. It is a Unbeatable bike. I think Gladiator 165cc will be the fasterst bike in Roads. By the way I’m a Sri Lankan. Love Yamaha Most.

yamaha gladiator its to late for you to make this 165cc bike…already 150cc plus market is dominating by indian companies. they even produced to 200cc plus. so which made honda company a stifff competition to survive in the market .i dont when this bike was launched in the indian market then indian companies would launch fairly more powerful bike……

Hi guys!
Dont wait for yamaha gladiator 165 becoz so far yamaha has only disappointed the indian customer with its previous models. Pulsars are far too common and not very reliable too. Go for TVS Apache RTR 160, which will soon hit the road. From what i have read, it is definitely going to beat all the other 150s and could take on the pulsar 180 too. Besides, TVS have made the Apache TRT 160 a little more lengthier, so it looks as big as the pulsars. It also has LCD speedo. Go for TVS Apache RTR 160

I for 1 was expecting more from yamaha, I own an RD350 and man no bike compares to is. Yamaha after spoiling me with a 2 cilinder 350cc two stroke you are giving a 160cc single, no ways. get in atleast 250 twin.

i’ve rx 135 5speed.. after rx100 this is very good model but this is classic and standed model bike but nowaday bajaj and tvs gave many models like sports bike,, but that not good in pickup and power so im wait for yamaha only i wont go out from this. because i love this brand and performance also..

About newly rumoured Yamaha 150cc all set to be launched in 2008, well I fear that when 2008 will commence, Yamaha people will say that they are postponing it for 2009, and when comes 2009 then ……. you do the math.
Since 2003, I have been reading in various places about how much investment Yamaha has done in India and still plans to do, but what is the result; the same old 106cc and 123.7 cc, what’s wrong with them?

Guys – its too little, too late. If Yamaha wants to win in India, they have to live up to their image – their image is Performance and quality. It makes no sense for them to fool around in the 100 – 165 cc range only. These guys should have the guts and gumption to launch a true blood 250 cc 400 cc at very competitive prices – I mean they are loosing money anyway, why not loose by subsidizing the price of these performance bikes – they will build IMAGE so strongly their brand value will soar. Instead of spending crores on dumb ads like the one for the Alba with one looser girl getting a tatoo of a 125 cc bike on her back and acting like its the biggest thing in life …..or the one where they show awesome performance bikes zooming around the place, yet the sell the equivalent of mopeds in their stable in India. What a convoluted, pansy approach to our market. No respect for the Indian consumer means no success – when will these guys take the lessons Mercedes has obviously learned …
Indians love a good deal – so if the Yamaha management take a good look at history, they need to give us something that gets out blood rushing – like they did with the RD 350 – and the RX 100 . THAT is Yamaha. Bring it on Ishikawa and you will see – a good 250 cc about a Lakh and a good 400 about 1.75 – 1.18 lakh (loose a little if you have to on these) will take your image and resultant sales of little peashooter bikes that you make in vast quantities through the proverbial roof. YAMAHA needs to be YAMAHA and not some sad-ars*d version of Munjals and their little commuters from Hero Honda.

Why dont Bajaj allow Tvs to make a bike which can defeat it like the new apache 165 cc with self start ,3 disk break, which atomatic reading and lager capacity of petrol man TVS rock man bajaj is waste if TVS realese a new apache 200 cc and any how Honda is relesing anew bike which is the fastest bike in india tat is 400 cc man honda&tvs rock

Me too, homies. Ive been waiting for this one since 2005. Now i live in pune, and what the guys in the showroom here are saying, is that the bike wil MOST probably roll out this Diwali. Yam is planning to bring out the Gladiator 175. Or the Fazer. Now hold your breath, exact specs of the bike are NOT available, and i wouldn’t speculate either. But let me tell you that this is as much as I’ve heard, and I’m eagerly waiting for the bike in the Flesh. Currently ripping on a blue RX-Z, 2001 model. Cheers.

This bike cant be compared to Pulsar as Yamaha is no.1 company in whole world. But it must be lauch with highly modified mono-suspension at rear instead of traditional double suspension. And then surely no comparison for this bike with any other Indian bikes.

hi everyone, this is P.C. from kolkata.currently i ride libero & also RX135 – 5 speed. Now for last 2 yrs i am waiting for this macho man to give me a full thrott. Gladiator 165 will be a dhamaka for the indian market, but why the launching of it is being delayed ? hey i have seen this gladiator 165 in magzine in mid 2006 , and i was waiting when yamaha launch that bike , io like tht yamaha gladiator 165, but now i have cbz 156.7cc (old once), i like only few bikes like yamaha rd 350, rx 100, rx135, CBZ ,and karizma, but now i like that gladiator 165, and i am still waiting for that bike , so plz inform when this bike gona be launch and with its price and performance.

Presently I have been driving Yamaha Libero for 4-1/2 Years and it is giving very good performance as well as comfort and its directional stability which, I did not find in any other Bike of this series.
I am awaiting for the next higher model of Yamaha, preferably 150 CC onward, to be purchased for my Son and my nephews.
Pl. let me know when it is going to be launched in India and what will be its tentative Price?
I have a suggestion for Yamaha: Please incorporate “Mono Suspension” in all your Models, you will find that the sale of YAMAHA Bikes will increase to a great extent and it will become the Highest Saling Bike in India. Silver White Colour with Red combination, as in 165 CC bike, is most appealing one.

Dear Sirs,
In India so many bikes are coming, but no one introduced with a speciality level as per the publics expectation. All are releasing only model based not life long durability.
My Suggions are :
In city generaly in the Traffic level all will ride the bike in 1st & 2nd gear mostly. In this stage we loose petrol ( Here if you can made as given below if possible then all will get excess milage and reduction of tention ride and accident risk safe and mide relaxation and easy to ride the vehicle single or family ride both will get benefit ) Here if possible to manufacture like 1st & 2nd gear on Automation Engine Accileration ( like Activa Honda / TVS Pep + / TVS – XL Super / Kinetic Honda or Specialy like Hero Honda Street Deluxe – without clutch ) model that is without gear system. This stage will be applicable with out Nutral and in the front loading gear leaver down pressing system for Indian city heavy traffic place and slow ride operation methodology.
After this Auto Gear finished in 2 gear speed level operation only, we will move in to speed increase system by operating Clutch with gear change level ( this gear increases will be applicable as per the road conditon and traffic level and need level of speed transmission upto 3rd gear to 5 or 6th gear by operating front load single lever by Top Lifting with leg front toe not operating by back leg lever. This front & back operation will give non rest and hard level of operation in the traffic.
After the Top gear if we need to reduce or come down to Auto gear place ( Low Speed operation ) we have to press one Auto operation leg lever in one press ( Like Bullet Nutral Leg Lever ) will come to Auto gear engine operation.
In 1975 Escorts introduced Rajdoot – GTX – 175 CC model bike with lower Height and short length. Now, a days lots of traffic problem and road capacity ( width ) stage why our Indian Bike Mfg. co., may develop to introduce Scooter Wheel with Kinetic Blaze level width wheel with split ( divide type ) wheel easy to operate for puncture ( to avoide / will not get damage tyre beading and rim edge damages ), Centre Engine as per my above suggestions / Chain Drive not belt drive / with chain guard / very important is all out side mechanics can easy to work with the excellent work space ( i.e. the work should not give troble to attend one simple job and not to open all 3 – 4,5 linked bolt & nut removel system . Ex. to attend one head or bore work , we should not open the shock absorber, air filter etc.. ) if we work on one part there only we have to concentrate. otherwise unnessary time delay / iritation / hand get injurty while opening nut & bolt because of no space to work operation. Those problems may give a caution for your bikes failure in the market. Your mfg. bike as per my above design lookes like scooter and covered inner bike system, safe coverage with metalic body ( No fibre coverage — if damages made public can’t by with higher cost ) rear 2 shock absorber / Petrol Tank capacity Max. 8 – 10 Ltrs. with reserve 1.5 – 2 ltrs. capacity/ Battery 12V 9 Amps. / All the above will come below the seat. Like a scooter mfg. model public can use the front place for luggage / children seating hold and back seat for family. This should not be like a sports type seat . Because ladies will not like to sit on upper level seat system and this is not safe also. If even seat or like Avenger model seat aged ladies can also sit without risk. Pinion holder like Bajaj Avenger. Centre Stand like Bullet only and side stand also to be provided. Crash Bar Not necessary for this type bike. In this scooter cum bike model side body should be like Laby / Vijay Supder model because in that rider and Pinion rider can rest their foot in the long extended foot rest place without nee trouble and leg pain and the side body also like that because of centre engine model should be same like a bike engine not like a rear wheel linked body engine. The side sheeld can easy to open with 2 – 3 only hand open screws with one key system on both left and right side.
In the scooter & bike model out of regular body left and right side one foot rest sheeld bar to be fixed like Yamaha Enticer for gear and Rear Break operations. This side place for Rider convenient centre place for luggage and front sitting persons ( Small Boys / Girls ) foot rest place.
Handle Bar sytems like Bike model above the Scooter model front sheeld with tool box like bajaj scooters not like k honda and Act. honda fiber box. Below the handle bar Rain water should not enter in to the sheeld gap. In the in side of the Sheeld Gap we have to fix horn, indicator signal horn and one Metal bend tube to be welded for Carburator cable insertion for necessary changes required and clutch cable insertions. This pipe system will not give trouble to the mechanic while change the cable and easy to operation otherwise we have to open all the sheeld and others to change one or two cable.
Front break two models ( Disc break and lineing break ), like Kinetic blaze with wide range wheel fixing rear and front both places if the out siders alterations also to be possibles should be in that engine front spraket and rear spraket extend as per width wheel fixation as per public wish also you have to satisfy for eary alterations ).
Front fork telescopic model with heavy shock holding capacity. Speedo meter to be fixed seperate peace like Enfield Bullet. other wise for one speedo system we have to change the Hub. Mostly we have to give safety and cost of spending spares ( long life to be required like Escorts Rajdoot and TVS Etc… ). Ohters also good but the public willingness is long life only.
Head light model should be exactly Enfield Bullet model without link with front fork top Pipe Holder Bolt fixing. Handle bar like fury or pulsar, Disc break right side handle bar fixing oil cup to be serperated and don’t merge with accelerator yoke. In the rear side totaly extra spaces to be kept on all the way because public may go for some alteration changes. Generaly we have to go our product as per public general mentality and wish and success capacity thought by mechanic. Then only your product will move in the market on higher sale basis.
The above are my suggestions, If any body interested me to work on your organisation well and good to me to introduce new things in the needed world with my small capacity brain work.

As you must have already read tht yamaha has launched it premium sports bike and cruiser R1 and MT01 in india this week.
all the gladi lovers can wait for the bike.
Its sure tht yamaha is going to launch 150cc to 250cc segment bikes once it is displayed in auto-expo 08. i m waiting for this bike since last feb.
and it is almost sure tht it will be launched by nxt mnth.
Even honda is comming out with new bike in tht same segment..
so if u guys are planning to buy the bike in this mnth, i would suggest tht u should wait till jan. even suzuki is launching some good bike at the same time.
all the compnies mantioned in this post are all international compnies which always produces quality.
so i suggest dont go for Hero honda or bajaj as they are local indian compnies..

I am using yamaha CRUXR for 7 years. it is running beyond 75000 km but still i used to chase the 125cc bikes which are released newly from different company. i like to ride 150 cc bikes from yamaha who is king of all other bikes. but i dont like and dont want to ride the 150cc bikes from any other. i am waiting for 2 years to buy 150cc and above from yamaha. but still they are irritating us without releasing the bikes.

If this bike is launched in India. It surely rocks all other bikes in India.
The top speed of Yamaha Gladiator 165cc is 136 Kmph. None of our Indian bikes have that much speed(Other than two stroke bikes). If this is launched in India it surely ROX.

I am a great fan of Bikes, and i specailly like yamaha bikes .because of its speed and firing. but in india i was having only one choice from yamaha bikes(yamaha -RX100) and the manufacturing of that bike is also closed. After a long time Yamaha India has designed a Bike which all the youth bike lover would like to buy. and i can say it will once again reveal the Histroy.

Yaar Now really I get fed up from yamaha. After 2 years of long wait I have really high expectactions from yamaha in auto expo 2008. And now yamaha announces 2 variation of 125cc in feb and god knows whether yamaha is going to launch this bike or not.

Yamaha Gladiator 165 cc is going to launch in India. According to the Yamaha’s Manager in Auto-Expo2008 Yamaha has a plan to launch 3 bike in India with in 8-9 months. Including Yamaha fazer 250cc ,R15 .

this is yogesh, the pics above is no doubt is Gladiator’s new version but hold on………………….it is not 165 cc it is just only 125 cc bike with some new design.
I watch the bike in auto expo 2008, held in New Delhi.
I know this one let the excitement down of some guys who loves speeds with designer effects.

I think yamaha India has not understood what Indians want and how to capture indian automobile market.. One thing Yamaha India should keep in mind before releasing tht the bike should be more attractive and should also go with the ergonomics to beat pulsar and unicorn. All the best.

iam waiting for yamaha Gladiator 165 cc bike from last 1yr,infact more than that I am not very happy to say that This bike is not Going to launch ,Beacuse Yamaha have another Plans to Do. yamaha is going to launch R15 and a Fazer 250cc with in 3-4 months. Both the models are good I must say Now Yamaha is Really thinking for Indian market But still have to work hard on their Models like USA AND UK MODELS.

I like YAMAHA as i own an RX more than a decade and 88 Rx well i could say that the company was good in the past when it was the world of two strokes,but it is very sad to say that the company cannot make or is not upto the indian peoples needs,they are still in the past in the time of 100cc and 125cc and that to they have all fuck all models like crux,libero,gladiator,it was easy for them just change the graphics a bit looks and all cosmetics done to the same YBX engine.
Guys you all made a good name in your past models but i guess its more than a decade the company name has vanished,with all those nonsence bikes you are making,just take a look at that Bajaj,what was bajaj before just in scooters man now he the king in bikes just giving bikes to the people in variations,what do u have Yamaha.
Frankly speaking you guys are just making fake talks,media calls,and fooling people with your upcomming models.Recently i saw R1 and Mt01 but guys can i ask u something which class of people are you targetting in India.First you give bikes like 150cc,200cc,250cc make your image in that class then u give the market R1 and other Bikes.You are too late in doing and implementing your bikes your aims in the market,if u you ask any one they wont recomend a bike from Yamaha,because people only know Yamaha by the RD and Rx and no other bike from Yamaha besides that.
If you have something good in your R&D launch it man before someone launches their bike and captures your share.Do not misunderstand with this small msg i have written i am a well wisher of Yamaha cant see the co giong downnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn

come on guys if you are really bike lovers then atleast forget yamaha india as if now…they dont do any market research about indian customers and launch bikes on their own…eg. the prices of yamaha r15 (whoooping 1 lac plus), more powerful bike after rx 2 stroke series,even bikes shown above is just chorem few fairing and nothing else …check it….infact almost all of the top notch indian management has left their places and has joined rival camps because they think sensible…come on yamaha do some serious business…i am also ride a yamaha rxz…and i am satisfied…all the best yamaha…

I had recently purchased yamaha gladiator ss in pondicherry ,later yamaha has released various colour variants , its of disappointment , but now 165 cc one , lack of spare parts , poor servicing .
